Welcome to the LWV
of Saginaw County

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, has fought since 1920 to improve our systems of government and impact public policies through citizen education and advocacy. The League's enduring vitality and resonance comes from its unique decentralized structure.

The League of Women Voters is strictly nonpartisan; it neither supports nor opposes candidates for office at any level of government. At the same time, the League is wholeheartedly political and works to influence policy through advocacy. It is the original grassroots citizen network, directed by the consensus of its members nationwide.

90th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment

This month we joyfully celebrated the 90th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote. Now, as we approach Labor Day, and Congress's return from recess becomes imminent, the League is focused on the unfinished business. We will continue our work for full disclosure of campaign spending and action on climate change throughout the fall. Comprehensive legislation to address climate change is as urgent as it ever was. We are in the middle of the primary election season, and the November 2nd Election Day is barely two months away. Stay tuned with us for action in September.
