Welcome to the LWV
of Saginaw County

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, has fought since 1920 to improve our systems of government and impact public policies through citizen education and advocacy. The League's enduring vitality and resonance comes from its unique decentralized structure.

The League of Women Voters is strictly nonpartisan; it neither supports nor opposes candidates for office at any level of government. At the same time, the League is wholeheartedly political and works to influence policy through advocacy. It is the original grassroots citizen network, directed by the consensus of its members nationwide.

Census 2010: Conference Call Next Week

The LWVUS is offering a training conference call on the Census for all those interested in doing this important work. Date/Time: Thursday, September 10, 3:30 pm (ET). Dial: 1-888-272-7337. Conference ID: 9368535. Speakers from the National Census Bureau will provide an overview of Census efforts and League-specific information on how to get involved. We continue to encourage Leagues currently involved in Census efforts to reach out to your local government offices and urge your public leaders to get involved in Census efforts by joining a Complete Count Committee, for example. For more information on the conference call and how to become a Census Partner, please contact Sergio EspaƱa (SEspana@lwv.org).
